Our Programs
At Jazzy Jam for Empowerment, we use the CASEL framework to support youth mental health through meditation, anti-bullying, career exploration, and creative activities. Our goal is to build emotional resilience, healthy relationships, and life skills that help young people thrive in school and beyond.

Social-Emotional and Mental Health
Our Social-Emotional and Mental Health programming includes meditation and breathing exercises, anti-bullying education, career exploration, and special events and outings centered on art, music, sports, entrepreneurship, and college preparation.
At JJE, we implement the Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) framework, widely recognized as the “CASEL wheel,” to help cultivate skills and environments that support holistic student development.
Schools, districts, states, and community organizations use the CASEL framework to:
- Foster knowledge, skills, and attitudes across five key areas of social and emotional competence
- Establish equitable learning environments and coordinate effective practices across four essential settings that influence student well-being: classrooms, schools, families, and communities
This framework offers a strong foundation for applying evidence-based SEL strategies in ways that reflect and respect each community’s unique strengths, needs, and culture—making it both adaptable and impactful across a range of educational and wellness priorities.
Social-Emotional and Mental Health
Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is a vital part of education and human development. It equips young people and adults with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to build healthy identities, manage emotions, set and achieve meaningful goals, demonstrate empathy, maintain positive relationships, and make responsible, caring decisions.
SEL promotes educational equity and excellence by fostering strong school-family-community partnerships. It creates learning environments built on trust, collaboration, and high-quality instruction. By addressing systemic inequities and supporting the whole child, SEL empowers individuals to co-create safe, healthy, and thriving communities.
Cooking Classes
At Jazzy Jam for Empowerment, cooking classes support social-emotional learning by teaching youth to manage emotions, work as a team, make responsible choices, and build confidence. Through hands-on cooking, students develop life skills, explore culture, and find joy in creating—nourishing both body and mind.
5 Love Languages Cooking Class

Cooking Up Love, Connection, and Healthy Habits
Our 5 Love Languages Cooking Class brings kids and parents together for fun, food, and meaningful connection. Through hands-on cooking, families explore the love languages—Quality Time, Words of Affirmation, Gifts, Acts of Service, and Physical Touch—in a way that builds stronger bonds and healthy habits.
Kids discover their own love language while learning to cook, connect, and care for themselves and others. It’s a joyful, safe space where hearts open, skills grow, and families thrive—one recipe at a time.
